Helen S. Gorel, 75, of Whites Crossing, PA, died Monday, May 22, 2017 at home after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Gorel. Born in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette Delosky Sefchick. Helen was raised in Simpson, PA, and was a graduate of Fell High School. She had been employed in the local garment industry as a seamstress while raising her family. She and her husband were the owners and operators of the Waymart Hotel, Waymart, PA, for 19 years. She is survived by one sister: Genevieve Roloff of Dix Hills, NY; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two children: Tammy and Brian Gorel; one sister: Mary Rupp; two brothers: Frank and Joseph Sefchick. Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA, assisted the family with private arrangements.
