Helen R. (Liuzzo) Farrell age 81, of 179 Wyoming Street, Carbondale died Wednesday, February 20, 2002 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of William P. Farrell.
Born October 25, 1920 in Carbondale, PA. She was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Sadie (Maudo) Liuzzo.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She graduated from the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, PA. class of 1939.
She was a Purchasing Agent for the Carbondale Nursing Home before her retirement.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary Helen Swika of Peckville, PA., and Deborah Bott of Dickson City, PA.; one sister: Angela Knott of Carbondale, PA.; one brother: Joseph Liuzzo of Carbondale, PA.; 4 Grandchildren; Nieces Nephews
She was preceded in death by three brothers: James Liuzzo, Samuel Liuzzo, and Anthony Liuzzo; five sisters: Doris Rabbige, Mary Liuzzo, Josephine Florini, Victoria Aloisio, and Carmella Zaccone
The funeral was held Friday, February 22, 2002 from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale with mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose Of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Thomas J. McDermott, Assistant Pastor. Entombment, Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
