Helen E. Chase, 82, of Binghamton, NY., died Thursday afternoon, August 24, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital, Binghamton. She was the wife of the late Howard L. Chase, who died November 19, 1995. Born November 26, 1923 in Hancock, NY., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Elsie (Mumford) Carpenter. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Johnson City, NY. She retired from Singer Link in Kirkwood, NY. where she was an inspector. She is survived by two sons: Ronald Long and wife Carol of Conklin, NY. and Lawrence Lewis of Binghamton, NY.; one daughter: Donna Starken and husband William of Binghamton, NY.; one sister: Doris Posten of Binghamton, NY.; 11 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Granddaughter; Several Nieces Nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers: Elwin, Carl, Walter, Dwayne and Albert Carpenter; one sister: Ellamae Campbell. The funeral will be Monday, August 28, 2006 at 11:30 AM from All Saints Episcopal Church, 475 Main Street, Johnson City, with Rev. Christine J. Day, pastor officiating. Interment, Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY. Friends may call Monday, August 28, 2006 at the church from 10:30 AM till service time.
