Obituary

Helen L. Cameron, age 75, of Kingsley, PA., died Thursday afternoon, July 15, 2004 at the Hospice Preferred Choice at Mid Valley Hospital, Peckville, PA., after a courageous battle with cancer. Her husband is Leon R. Cameron. Born October 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Luella (Wilbur) Bennett. She was a member of the West Lenox Baptist Church in West Lenox, PA. She was a social member of the Elk Mountain VFW Post 8488 in Lenox, PA. She enjoyed cooking and dancing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to: Hospice Preferred Choice @ Mid Valley Hospital 1400 Main Avenue Peckville, Pa 18452 She is survived by two daughters: Jessie Thorn and husband Douglas of Thompson, PA. and Rose Williams and husband David of Kingsley, PA.; four sons: Ivan Smith, Sr. and wife Sandy of New Milford, PA., Clifford Smith, Sr. and wife Cathy of Harford, PA. Ernest Smith, Sr. and wife Debbie of Lakewood, PA. and Vernon Smith wife Katrina of Kingsley, PA.; two step sons: Edward Cameron and wife Kathy of Thompson, PA. and Harold Cameron of Scranton, PA.; one step daughter: Linda Cameron of Kingsley, PA.; two sisters: Hazel Campbell of Florida and Evelyn Ford of New Mexico; one brother: Edwin Bennett of New Mexico; 17 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces Nephews She was preceded in death by one son: Walter Gene Smith; one brother: James Bennett The funeral was held Monday, July 19, 2004 at 11:00 am from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with the Rev. Lee Mead, pastor of the West Lenox Baptist Church, officiating. Interment, West Lenox Cemetery, West Lenox. Friends called Sunday, July 18, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Pallbearers: Ivan Smith, Jr., Clifford Smith, Jr., William Smith, Jr., Ernie Smith, Jr., Vernon Smith and Jack Ross, Jr.
