Helen Louise Brown, 96, formerly of Scranton, PA, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Dunmore Health Care Center, Dunmore, PA. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Brown who died in 2000. They were married 64 years prior to his passing. Born June 21, 1919 in Bonne Terre, MO, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Pado Florian. She was employed at Consolidated Molded Products, Scranton and enjoyed cooking, gardening and shopping with her daughter. She was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by two daughters: Elaine Shoener and husband Richard of Scranton, PA and Patricia Nicholas of Scranton, PA; one son: James Brown of West Wyoming, PA; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Michael, George and John Florian; two sisters: Elsie Washeleski and Leona Grebauskey. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, November 20, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, pastor. Inurnment, Holy Trinity Cemetery, Simpson, PA. Arrangements were under the care of the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
