Helen C. Boyarsky, 93, formerly of Scott Township, PA, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, PA. She was the wife of the late Henry C. Boyarsky, who died January 11, 2003. Born April 17, 1922 in Mayfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Anna Bachak Pietriyk. She was a graduate of Mayfield High School and had been employed as a sales clerk in the lighting department at Sugarman's Department Store in Eynon, PA for 30 years. Prior to that, she worked at Carl's Place in Lenoxville, PA which was owned by her parents. She was an active member of Corpus Christi Church, Montdale, PA and a past president of its Women's Guild. She loved cooking, gardening, traveling to Las Vegas and California to visit her daughter Barbara, but most of all enjoyed taking care of her family. She is survived by three daughters: Evelyn A. Rixey and husband Charles of Mechanicsburg, PA, Cathleen M. Werner and husband Mike of Boalsburg, PA and Barbara H. Boyarsky of Harrisburg, PA; one son: Lawrence H. Boyarsky of Olyphant, PA; five grandchildren: Laura, Amanda, Sarah, Abigail and James; one great grandson: Kasey; one sister: Blanche Williams of Kirkwood, NY; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister: Irene Clementoni; a brother: Edward Pietriyk; a daughter-in-law: Marie Boyarsky. The funeral was held Friday, February 26, 2016 at 10:15 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Vianney Parish/Corpus Christi Church, Montdale, celebrated by Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, pastor and Rev. John Polednak. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Charles Rixey, James Rixey, Michael Werner, Randy Bordner, Robert Clementoni, Robert James, David Williams and Chad Miller. Friends called Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were sent to St. John Vianney Parish Food Bank.
