Heather K. Atkinson, of Lenoxville, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at home after a long illness.
Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of Scottie Atkinson of Lenoxville and the late Jack Atkinson.
Heather was a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School and attended Brookdale Community College in New Jersey. She loved movies and music, acted in local theatre productions and sang with the Scranton Singers Guild and the Wyoming County Chorale under Dr. Stephen Barton. She also sang with the Factoryville United Methodist Church choir for many years.
She worked at AT&T in Scranton and than AT&T Wireless in Oklahoma City, OK until 2010. Her favorite thing to do was to help others. She worked with mission and outreach at Factoryville U.M. Church and has been manager of the mobile food pantry that serves Wyoming County residents.
Heather's motto was: "Serving the last, lost and least of the world."
She is survived by three nephews and one niece: John William Montgomery, Neil Montgomery, Melina Petrini and Bobby Petrini.
The funeral was held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Factoryville United Methodist Church, 162 College Avenue, Factoryville, PA, officiated by Rev. Bill Townsend.
Friends called Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Arrangements were entrusted to Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution were sent in Heather's name to the Factoryville U.M. Church.
