Hans W. Renter, age 69, of Greenfield Township, PA., died early Sunday morning, May 5, 2013 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife was the former Dorothy (Buck) Mottola Renter, who died August 22, 2008. Born January 21, 1944 in Manhattan, NY., he was the son of the late Hans and Elsy (Bohrer) Renter. Hans was a graduate of Lakeland High School and worked as a body man for Pompey Chrysler where he managed the body shop for many years. He also owned and operated Renter's Auto Sales in Greenfield Township. He was in the Army National Guard and was a member of St. John Vianney Parish, Royal, PA. He was a car enthusiast and his favorite car was the Ford Thunderbird. He enjoyed gardening, playing quoits and spending time with his grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Scialla, Theresa Micknick, P.A. and the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all of their care to Hans throughout his illness. He is survived by one son: James Renter and wife Sheila of Scott Township, PA.; three daughters: Mary Ann Renter of Union Dale, PA., Rebecca LaRue and husband Ronald of Greenfield Township, PA. and Lori Shiner and husband Michael of Greenfield Township, PA.; seven grandchildren: Ronnie, Joey and Mikey LaRue, James, Jr and Patrick Renter and Morgan and McKensie Shiner; two sisters: Betty Walczak and husband Leon of Greenfield Township, PA. and Rose Yacinovich and husband Michael of Forest City, PA.; two step sons: Angelo Mottola and wife Hazel of New Port Richey, FL. and Nicholas Mottola and wife Jennifer Williams of Dupont, PA.; four step grandchildren: Anthony, Vincent, Lindsay and Derek Mottola; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son: Michael Renter The funeral was held Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 9:30 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, Royal, celebrated by Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, pastor of St. John Vianney Parish, Mondale and Royal, PA. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 5-8 PM. Pallbearers: James Renter, Jimmy Renter, Nick Mottola, Ron LaRue, Sr., Ron LaRue, Jr., Joey LaRue, Leon Walczak, Jr. Michael Shiner.
