Hans-Peter Junge of Gibson Township, PA, who was fondly called Peter, Petie, Pe-tar and Pete slipped away from this earth quietly at the age of 51 on January 10, 2021.
He was predeceased by his parents, Hans and Marlene, best friend, Mart, and most recently, his Auntie Trish. Surviving are his sister, Christina Mansfield and husband, Keith, nephews, Zachary and wife, Marissa, and Ethan and fiancé, Lauren.
He was a caring brother and uncle, as well as a good friend and co-worker to more than we know. He enjoyed fishing and volunteered his time cooking chickens at the Lenox VFW for various fundraisers. He freely donated to those causes and among his favorites were St. Jude and Toys for Kids.
When he was able, he played Santa while the VFW gave away toys to wide-eyed children. Seeing their smiles filled his heart.
Peter went to Mountain View High School and graduated from Penn State with a degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management. He repaired small engines and landed at the PennCan Travel Plaza where he easily developed a rapport with his customers. He would keep people informed of world news and friends would drive through for a splash of gas and a daily dose of whit or wisdom. We will dearly miss the little blue-eyed, selfless man in overalls with a big heart.
Services were private.
Arrangements were entrusted to Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
Should you wish to commemorate his memory, please donate to the VFW-Lenox Post 8488, c/o Raymond Fallon, 8212 SR 106, Kingsley, PA 18826.
