Hannah Modad, age 95, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Carbondale, PA., died early Thursday morning, January 16, 2003, at the Sunrise Nursing Home, Katy, Texas. She was the widow of Alex Modad, who died August 8, 1981.
Born March 7, 1907 in Lebanon. She was the daughter of the late Salime and Rahmey (Hamoud) Ali. She was of the Protestant faith.
She enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Memorial Contributions can be given to the donors favorite charity.
She is survived by two daughters: Adele Porter of Waverly, NY. and Betty L. Modad of Houston, TX.; one son: Atty. Ralph A. Modad, of Austin, TX.; one brother: Naiem Abu Ali of Lebanon; 8 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews
She was preceded in death by one daughter: Emma Saley; one brother: Jamil Abu Ali; two sisters: Shams Ali Modad and Hedda Rafey
The funeral was held Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at 1:00 pm in the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with the Rev. Ronald Potter, Pastor of the Covenant Reformed Church, Carbondale, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
A viewing was held Wednesday, January 29, 2003 from 11-1.
