Grace (Messina) Parry, 93, of Scott Township, PA, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023 at Elan Gardens, South Abington Township, PA. She was the wife of the late Robert Parry, Jr., who died November 21, 2019. They were married September 10, 1949.

Born November 8, 1930 in Mayfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Shevel Messina.

Grace was a graduate of Mayfield High School and worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry. She also worked as a secretary in the shipping department at Triangle Manufacturing, Archbald, PA.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening and was of the Catholic faith. Her greatest joy was raising her family in which she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by children: Robert J. Parry and wife, Barbara of Scott Township, PA, Jane Jarusik and husband, Ron of Lake Ariel, PA, and Mary Rose Applegate and husband, Neil of Scott Township, PA; grandchildren: Robert Parry, Craig Parry and wife, Melissa, Chad Parry and wife, Kim, Valerie Munley and husband, Dan, Ron Jarusik and Amanda Applegate and husband, Justin Hennings; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters: Lucille Moylan of Virginia and Isabelle Norella and husband, Louis of Carbondale, PA; brother-in-law: Charles Parry of Peckville, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother: Angelo Messina; and sisters: Marie Baggetta and Carmel Tolerico.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1101 Willow Street, Peckville, PA, celebrated by the Rev. Andrew Kurovsky, pastor. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Mayfield, PA.

A viewing was held at the church from 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
