Glenn W. Quick, age 74, of Tunkhannock, PA., died Wednesday morning, May 19, 2010 at the Ascera Care Hospice Unit at Mid Valley Hospital, Peckville, PA. His wife was the late Ollie Mae Quick.
Born January 8, 1936 in Glenburn, PA., he was the son of the late Glenn C. and Eleanor (Gardner) Quick.
He was a Marine Corps veteran having served in the Korean War. He worked as an automobile mechanic and was employed by Sears in Dickson City, PA., Montclair Motors in Clarks Summit, PA., and several years in Texas where he resided for 20 years and retired. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid hunter, fisherman, enjoyed muzzleloaders and loved his cats.
He is survived by one son: David Quick of Jessup, PA.; one daughter: Dianna Mills and husband Dan of Carbondale, PA.; companion: Patricia Forestin of Tunkhannock, PA.; three brothers: Jonas Quick of Florida, George Quick of Mill City, PA. and Floyd Quick of Centremoreland, PA.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter: Donna Maria Quick; one sister: Sarah Shogren.
The funeral was held Friday, May 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with the Rev. Michael Shambora, pastor of the Brick United Methodist Church, Duryea, PA,, officiating. Interment, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
Friends called Friday morning from 10-11 AM and Friday evening from 4-9 PM.
