Gerald R. "Jerry" Wagner, 76, of Union Dale, PA, died Monday morning, August 22, 2022 at home after a lengthy illness. Born July 31, 1946 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Walter and Sophie Haneswich Wagner. Jerry was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and was employed in the maintenance department at the Carbondale Area School District. He enjoyed living in the country taking care of his farm and his horses. Jerry will be fondly remembered for his infectious smile and laugh, his kind disposition and his dedication to his family, especially his brothers and sisters. He will be deeply missed by his family, especially his grandchildren who will cherish the fond memories of their time together. He is survived by his companion of over 40 years: Jane Bowness of Union Dale, PA; one daughter: Jessica Petrilak of Greenfield Township, PA; two grandchildren: K.C. and Ashton; one sister: Mary Snipes of Mayfield, PA; one brother: David Wagner of Carbondale, PA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Walter, Jr., Leo, Joseph, Sr. and William Wagner; and one sister: Ann Gillette. Services will be private for the family.
