George W. Pfleger, 73, of Oxford, NJ, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, PA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 2, 1944 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late George and Doris Ehrich Pfleger. George was a graduate of SUNY-Cobleskill having received a degree in animal husbandry, and later attended the Ohio State University where he was a member of the debate team. In his early years, he helped work for the family business before starting his own. He began his own business as a heating and air conditioning contractor and continued that business for many years. He is survived by a sister: Claudia Baptista of Greenfield Township, PA; a niece: Vanessa Baptista of Scranton, PA; a great nephew: Zachary Mangan of Philadelphia, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church, 704 Montdale Road, Scott Township, PA, celebrated by Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, pastor. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Washington, NJ. Arrangements were entrusted to Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
