Obituary

George Meade, age 67, of Clifford, PA. died early Sunday morning, October 24, 2004 at the Hospice Preferred Choice At Mid Valley Hospital, Peckville, PA. His wife is the former Joan Mihalick. Born April 3, 1937 in Scranton, PA. He was the son of the late Karl and Lena (Sweet) Meade. He was a member of the Clifford United Methodist Church. He was an automobile mechanic for many years. He originally worked for R.B Fries Garage in Forest City, PA. and then opened his own business in Clifford. He was known to open his garage at any hour or day if someone was in need of help. He was the lead guitar player and singer for a country band for over 40 years which played at the Clifford Carnival, a number of local bars, dances and many other events. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to: Hospice Preferred Choice @ Mid Valley Hospital 1400 Main Avenue Peckville, Pa 18452 He is survived by three sisters: Maybelle Oakley of New Milford, PA., Grace Ives of Cary, NC. and Bernice Warner of Binghamton, NY.; Nieces, Nephews Cousins He was preceded in death by two sisters: Myrtle Bergamn and Charlotte Bridenbaker The funeral was held Tuesday evening, October 26, 2004 at 8:00 pm in the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, with the Rev. Linda Bryan, pastor of the Clifford United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Clifford Valley Cemetery, Clifford. Friends called Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM.
