George John Rocco Robinson, age 80, formerly of Levittown, PA. and Lenox Township, PA., passed peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, Scranton, after a lengthy illness.
Born April 12, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA., he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Grace (Capaldi) Robinson.
He worked for 25 years as a warehouse man for Penn Fruit, Philadelphia, and 10 years as a delivery man for Al's Used Auto Parts, Trevose, PA. After his retirement, he moved to his beloved endless mountains. He was an avid gardener and loved music and singing.
He devoted his life to his family whom he loved very much and enjoyed his time with his children, grandchildren and faithful companion Grizzly. The family would like to thank the entire staff at The Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania for their loving and compassionate care to George during his stay.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Audrey (Armstrong) Robinson; He is also survived by four daughters: Lena Fleming and husband Raymond of Langhorne, PA. and their children Heather and Nicholas; Mary Ann Cardin and husband John of Levittown, PA. and their children Justin, Jarret, Joshua, Jacqueline with three grandchildren; Audrey Downs of Nicholson, PA. and her children John and Joseph with four grandchildren; Susan Robinson-Cobb and husband Timothy of Jackson, PA. and their daughter Robin; along with many other loving and devoted family members.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Vincent Jimmy Robinson.
The funeral was held Friday, November 4, 2011, at 10:30 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, State Route 106, Royal, PA., celebrated by Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, pastor of St. John Vianney Parish. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA.
Pallbearers: Nicholas and Raymond Fleming, Justin and Jarret Cardin, John and Joseph Downs.
Friends called Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 4-8 PM.
