George W. Crossman, age 90, formerly of Waymart, PA., died Thursday evening, March 28, 2013 at the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale, PA. He was preceded in death by his first wife Florence Myers-Crossman and his second wife Doris Howell-Crossman.
Born October 7, 1922 in Dalton, PA., he was the son of the late Rev. G. Fay and Mildred (Blewett) Crossman.
He was a graduate of Pleasant Mount High School and operated heavy equipment for most of his life. He was also employed in the machine shop of B.W. Elliott in Binghamton, NY. He was a member of the operating engineers union and the Clinton Center Baptist Church, Waymart.
He is survived by two sons: Ellis Crossman of Kerens, WV. and Ezra Crossman of Johnson City, NY.; two brothers: Harold Crossman of Oregon and Theodore Crossman of Michigan; five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson: Timothy Crossman; two brothers: Milo and Robert Crossman; one sister: Eleanor Lockyer.
A memorial service was held Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Clinton Center Baptist Church, Waymart, with Pastor Don Hickey, officiating. Inurnment, Green Grove Cemetery, Pleasant Mount, PA.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA.
