Gary L. Wasoski, 71, of Carbondale, PA, died Friday, December 7, 2018 at PAM Specialty Hospital of Wilkes Barre, PA. His wife is the former Maria Cerminaro. They were married May 18, 1974. Born April 22, 1947 in Oakland, CA, he was the son of the late Walter and Margaret Whitehead Wasoski. Gary was a 1966 graduate of Sunset High School in Hayward, CA, and was of the Christian faith. He worked for 15 years at DG Nicholas Company, Carbondale, three years for Advanced Auto Parts, Carbondale, and four years for Tony Domiano's Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep, Eynon, before his retirement in 2009. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Coal Cracker Cruisers and the Albert H. Crane American Legion Post 22, Carbondale. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan and loved automotives. Gary was a proud father and grandfather, his daughter and grandchildren were his world. He loved all their friends as his own flesh and blood. He was always the life of a party and made friends everywhere he went. His best moments were always spent with his family. He was a huge part of their small family and their world. Gary will truly be missed every day. He is survived by one daughter: Reana Wasoski of Carbondale, PA; four grandchildren: Samara, Chad and Sincere, all of Carbondale, PA, and Qualeek Jr., New York; four nieces and nephews: Alicia Carlo-Bird, Michelle Wasoski-Paulsen and Joey and Mike Wasoski; a brother-in-law: Joseph Cerminaro of Arizona. He was also preceded in death by one brother: Al "Whiskey" Wasoski; niece: Gina Carlo; sister-in-law: Jackie Carlo and son-in-law: Qualeek Miller Sr. A celebration of life with military honors was held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by a longtime family friend Pastor John Stange, of the Core Creek Community Church, Langhorne, PA. Friends called Friday, December 14, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were sent to the Pocono Mountain Bible Conference, 191 Clifton Beach Road, Clifton Township, Pa 18424.
