Gail Cosklo, 84, of Fell Township, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, after a life richly and beautifully lived.

Born on November 19, 1941, in Childs, PA, to Rexford and Helen Fife Oakley, Gail was one of twenty children, a beginning that shaped her lifelong devotion to family. She graduated from Lakeland High School in 1958, when she met the love of her life, Ronald J. Cosklo. From the very moment they met, Gail often said she knew she would one day become Mrs. Cosklo, writing “future Mrs. Cosklo” in her high school year book.

During their courtship, Ron would pick daffodils growing outside of Fern Hall- never imagining that one day their daughter would own that very property, restoring the history they cherished so deeply. Today, a memorial bench overlooking the land stands as a tribute to the deep roots planted there.

Gail and Ron were married on New Year’s Eve in 1961, at St. Rose of Carbondale, celebrating afterward at the Crystal Lake Hotel. Together, they built a life full of love, adventure, and laughter. A pilot, Ron often took Gail on flights that were, at times, less than smooth. She was by his side on his very first rainy flight- an experience that ended with an ice cream cone spilled down the front of her dress. On another occasion, she glanced over mid-flight only to find the fuel gauge reading empty. Through it all, her steady faith and calm spirit carried them safely home, again and again.

Their life together was anything but ordinary. They traveled the world- from Mexico to Israel- while raising six children and creating a home filled with warmth, humor, and unwavering love.

In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald, her cherished dog, Jeter; her siblings- Sharon, Louise, Ruth, Eileen, Jane, Kathryn, James, Rexford, Joseph, Leon and Larry; her dear mother-in-law, Mary Cosklo; Lillian “Aunt Lil” Piatt; Ruth Wormuth; Gene Cosklo; and many other treasured family members and friends.

Though she once dreamed of becoming a pediatric nurse, Gail fulfilled that calling in the most meaningful way- by caring for her six children, eighteen grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to be loved by her. She is survived by her children: Ronald Cosklo Jr. (Jill); Michele Connor (Jerry); Dr. Sandra Cosklo; Melanie Balfour (Adrian); Scott Cosklo (Christine); and Ryan Cosklo (Ashley). She was the proud grandmother of Ronald, Jimmy, Jeffrey, Tommy, Sarah, Jerry, Mara, Matilda, Adrian, Alannah, Ciara, Alex, Poppy, Emily, Allie, Ryan Jr., and Galen; and three great-grandchildren, Nolan, Samuel, and Lainey; six siblings: Margie, Tish, Ellen, Tom, Alan and Donald. She also leaves behind her beloved grandpuppies, Louis and Gigi Cosklo.

Gail will be remembered most for her boundless kindness and her remarkable ability to bring joy to those around her, even in her own moments of pain. She proudly taught CCD classes for 18 years. On summer mornings, she could often be found sitting quietly on her porch with a cup of coffee, admiring her garden in bloom- bee balm, irises, hibiscus, and peonies hosting bees and hummingbirds. She took great care in feeding the birds that gathered nearby and carried a gift for recalling recipes entirely from memory.

Gail had a special fondness for little treasures. She delighted in collecting tchotchkes. Among her favorites were her beloved cuckoo clocks, whose cheerful chimes filled her home with warmth and life, as well as her cherished collections of owls and angels. Her home reflected her maximalist spirit: welcoming, full of character, and brimming with the small, meaningful things that brought her happiness.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Gail lived her beliefs every day—through her compassion, her strength, and her devotion to her family. Her legacy is one of love, faith, resilience, and quiet grace—and it will live on in all who knew her.

A private funeral service will be held for family and close friends, with the family grateful for the love and support of all who knew her.
