Gabrielle P. "Gabbie" Hughes-Gibser, 22, of Gibson Township, PA died Saturday morning, November 19, 2016 at home surrounded by her family after a 17 year battle with Neurofibromatosis. Born November 9, 1994 in Cooperstown, NY, she was the daughter of Orianne Brownrigg Gibser and the step daughter of Fred Gibser of Gibson Township. Her father is Robert Hughes of Virginia. Throughout her long struggle, Gabbie maintained an indomitable attitude and incredible strength in the face of her debilitating illness. Her positivity, sense of humor, and disarming ease of laughter inspired all those that met, befriended and loved her. Gabbie had many interests. She enjoyed camping, video games, interacting with her many friends through social networking, role play internet games, and writing. She was a cat fanatic. She touched many lives and hearts in her short number of years. She is survived by two brothers: David A. Hughes at home and Patrick Gibser and wife Kelly of Hampton Roads, VA; grandparents: Elizabeth Brownrigg of Cobleskill, NY; Robert and Lucy Hughes of Montrose, PA and Jean Gibser of Zellwood, FL; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her grandfather: Percy Brownrigg. A private memorial service was held for family from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
