Frederick M. Jaggars, 67, of Lake Ariel, died Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Regional Hospital, Scranton, after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, the former Joan Fortuner.

Born March 26, 1956 in Peckville, he was the son of the late Frederick and Sandra Jaggars.

Fred was a veteran of the Air Force and was stationed at many bases, including Iceland, The Azores, and throughout the U.S. He had been employed by Siemens Medical as a linear accelerator technician manager, one of only a handful in the world at the time. He was also a hospital administrator briefly.

Fred was a Christian and showed great strength during his illness. He will always be remembered as an avid musician since the 1960's, along with his enjoyment of hunting, fishing, his gun and guitar collection, and how much he loved his family. He lived by "Don't think twice, it's alright" -Bob Dylan.

He is survived by one son: Jeromy Jaggars and fiancée, Melissa Cohen of Forest City; four siblings: Rev. Barry Jaggars and wife, Penny of Great Bend, David Jaggars and wife, Eileen of Lake Ariel; Charlene Purnell and husband, Keith of La Crosse, WI, and Randy Jaggars and wife, Jill of Moscow; several nieces and nephews; and an uncle and aunt, who he adored dearly, Merel and Audrey Jaggars.

A remembrance service with military honors was held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA. Friends called from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
