Frederick C. Chubb, 84, of Williamsport, PA, died Thursday, July 13, 2023 at UPMC Williamsport, after an illness. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Charlene M. Williams, the love of his life.

Born June 24, 1939 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Cedric and Thelma Young Chubb.

Fred was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and received a bachelor's degree in physical therapy from Ithaca College. He spent his career as a physical therapist for Williamsport Hospital and was instrumental in achieving accreditation for the hospital's physical therapy department. He loved his career and never thought of his job as work. Fred was an advocate for those with physical disabilities and generously volunteered his time to several organizations that promoted their cause.

Fred attended First United Methodist Church of Williamsport and was active with their bible study group. Up until his passing, he continued his membership with the parish he grew up in, Berean Baptist Church of Carbondale, and served on its church board. Fred enjoyed gardening and painting landscapes, especially barn scenes. He cherished the time spent with his family and he will be deeply missed.

He is also survived by two children: Karen M. Lilley and husband, Stephen of Cogan Station, PA, and Jeffrey C. Chubb and wife, Susan of Blandon, PA; two grandchildren: Joseph McGinty and wife, Betsy and Jennifer McGinty; four great-grandchildren: Jaxton, Jacoby, Calvin and Brady; two sisters: Lynnae White and Aldonna Roush; one brother: Noel Chubb; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one sister: Nadine Roche and two brothers: Dane and Gordon Chubb.

Graveside services were held privately at the Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart, PA.
