Obituary

Frederick R. "Butch" Case, 79, of Clifford Township, PA, died Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Regional Hospital, Scranton, PA.

Born November 16, 1944 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Leon and Hazel Wells Case.

Butch was a graduate of Mountain View High School and worked as a handyman for numerous businesses in the area such as Rapid Pallet, Jermyn, PA, and the Green Goose Bar in Lenoxville, PA.

His greatest joy was taking care of lawns and has been the caretaker for several years at the Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Butch was a U.S. Navy veteran, was very family oriented and enjoyed making handmade jewelry. He was an avid New York Giants fan.

He is survived by one sister: Barbara Case of Clifford Township, PA; three nieces: Bernice Bagasevich of Scranton, PA, Diane Kochmer of Clifford, PA and Janet Corey of Greenfield Township, PA; and several cousins.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers: John "Jack" Case, Clayton Case and Richard "Dick" Case; and a sister: Leona Evans.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.

Donations in Butch's name were made to the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 10, Clifford, PA 18413.
