Obituary

Frederick "Fred" Brunori, 64, of Scott Township, PA, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, PA, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, the former Debora Miller. They were married on April 4, 1992.

Born August 24, 1960 in Peckville, PA, he was the son of the late Roger Brunori and the late Helen Busher Howarth.

Fred was a graduate of Lakeland High School and retired from General Dynamics, Scranton, PA, where he had been employed for 23 years. He also worked for many years at Walczak Lumber, Greenfield Township, PA.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Fred's heart belonged to the Minnesota Vikings. Some of his fondest memories were watching Vikings games with his son, Freddy. His love for sports extended beyond football, with an equal devotion to the game of golf, where he spent many cherished hours on the course. He also played in numerous softball leagues over the years. Fred found simple joy in cutting the grass, a task that gave him both relaxation and satisfaction, much like many other aspects of his life. He was a devoted companion to many, but especially to his two beloved dogs, Nala and Luka, who brought him joy and comfort every day. Fred's bond with them was unbreakable, and they will miss him dearly. Fred approached everything with a positive attitude and a genuine smile, and his love for life was contagious to all who knew him. He will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, good humor, and the many happy memories he leaves behind.

The family would like to thank the doctors and medical staff at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Hope Lodge, and Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

He is survived by three children: Camber Castellano and husband, Vincent of Factoryville, PA, Justin Roberts and wife, Jennifer of Childs, PA and Fred Brunori Jr. and Fiancée, Alyssa Bednash of Jermyn, PA; six grandchildren: Mauri, Alex, Cooper, Ayla, Evan and Kenzie; one sister: Cynthia Straub and husband, James of Scott Township, PA; one brother: Glenn Rohrbach and wife, Janice of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother: William Rohrbach.

A viewing was held Monday, December 9, 2024 from 4 -7 p.m. at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA. A religious service was conducted at 7:00 p.m. Cremation followed.
