Frank J. Kubus, 59, of Clifford Township, PA, formerly of Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, died Saturday night, January 14, 2017 at Wayne Memorial Hospital Hospice, Honesdale, PA. Born April 2, 1957 in Carbondale, PA, he is the son of Rose Marie Nardi Kubus of Forest City, PA, and the late Frank Kubus. Frank had been employed for many years as a pool installer at DeRichie Custom Pools and Spas in Carbondale. Frank truly enjoyed the outdoors and cherished the time spent with family and friends around the camp fire or fishing. He was a sun worshiper who enjoyed spending time in the back yard tending to his garden or just relaxing by the pool in his normal summer attire - a pair of shorts. He liked watching college basketball, NASCAR, especially # 24 Jeff Gordon but his true sports passion was the Oakland Raiders. He is survived by one daughter: Brittany Papocchia of Lenox, PA; two grandchildren: Dylan and Lainey; five sisters: Debra Franceski and husband Joseph, Jr. of Browndale, PA, Rita Gallagher and husband William of Phillipsburg, NJ, Julie Kilmer and husband Gary of Vandling, PA, Rose Marie Howard and husband Peter of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Danielle Atkinson and husband Keith of Browndale, PA; his companion of 15 years: Patrice Cost of Clifford Township, PA, and her children and grandchildren; several aunts and uncles; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; his campfire buddies: Jayden and Dagen. The funeral was held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:15 a.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 741 Delaware Street, Forest City, celebrated by Rev. Paul Fontanella, assistant pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Cremation followed the mass. Pallbearers: Joseph Franceski, Christopher Gallagher, Russell Foster, Thor Atkinson, Griffin Atkinson, Peter Cost and Joseph Nogick.
