Frank G. Kavetski, III., age 68, of Gibson, PA., passed away Saturday morning, March 17, 2012 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, the former Sharon Brown.
Born August 9, 1943 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Frank Kavetski and Helen Kavetski-Gasper.
Frank was the owner and operator of Kavetski Construction for forty five years. He was an member of the Sea Scouts and enjoyed year round camping with them. He was an avid sailor and enjoyed many years of sailing on the Chesapeake Bay with family and friends. Frank was a member of the Mountain View School Board in the 1980's. He took great pleasure in gardening and driving his corvette. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by two sons: Terry Kavetski and wife Melanie of Gibson, PA. and Martin Kavetski and Dawn Kavetski of Gibson, PA. the loves of his life: grandson; Bradley Kavetski of South Carolina; granddaughter: Shannon Kavetski of Gibson, PA. and dog Ginger; one sister: Patricia Brown and husband Larry of Harford, PA.; two sisters-in-law: Helen Hanf of Kingsley, PA. and Carol Robinson and husband Roger of Elkton, MD.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Ronald Kavetski.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the South Gibson United Methodist Church, South Gibson, PA., celebrated by Rev. Vickie Maxon, pastor. Inurnment followed at the Harford Cemetery, Harford, PA.
Friends called Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 7-9 PM at the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA. and Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were sent to the Harford Volunteer Fire Company or the South Gibson United Methodist Church.
