Francis X. "Frank" McMyne, 60, of Carbondale, PA, died Thursday, July 14th.
Born December 30, 1955 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of Janet Baker McMyne of Ewing, NJ, and the late James V. McMyne.
Frank was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School and later served four years in the Air Force. He received his masters degree from Marywood University and was an advocate for the mentally ill. He also traveled the country as a spokesperson for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Frank was a kind and generous person who always put the needs of others before his own. From his work with the mentally ill, being his mom's good companion after the death of his father, to helping raise and stepping in as a father figure to his sister, Patty's children, he could always be depended upon.
He is survived by two brothers: James McMyne and wife Donna of Carbondale, PA and Joseph McMyne and wife Claudia of Kissimmee, FL; one sister: Patricia J. Voorhees and husband Thomas of Ewing, NJ; 7 nieces and 6 nephews and 2 grandnieces and 5 grandnephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Thomas McMyne and a nephew: Dylan McMyne.
The funeral was held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Andrew Kurovsky, administrator. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: James McMyne, Michael McMyne, James McMyne, Donald McMyne, David McMyne and Timothy McMyne.
