Francis M. (Slim) Freeman age 91, of 184 Washington Avenue, Carbondale died Monday, January 21, 2002 at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. He is survived by his wife the former Virginia Northup.
Born January 20, 1911 in Cortland, NY. He was the son of the late Walter Freeman.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Carbondale.
Prior to his retirement he was employed as the Head Sawyer at Torch Lumber Mill in Carbondale for 40 years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed. He loved fishing and wrestling.
He is survived by one daughter: Donna Huffert of Carbondale, PA.; two sons: Howard Castle of Carbondale, PA., and Fred Castle of Archbald, PA.; 9 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; Nieces Nephews.

The funeral was held Friday, January 25, 2002 at 11:00 in the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale with Rev. Arthur Davis, Pastor of the Asbury United Methodist and Providence United Methodist Churches, Scranton, PA., officiating. Cremation followed in the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
