Francis J. Frank Critelli, age 56, of Carbondale, PA. died Saturday afternoon, December 27, 2003 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife is the former Janet Waurin. They celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary in October. Born January 16, 1947 in Carbondale, PA. He was the son of the late Anthony and Margaret (Burns) Critelli.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. He served in the National Guard and was a Corrections Officer at the SCI Prison System in Waymart, PA.
He loved to take his walks through town, talk with everyone and their brother, and saddle up on his Harley for a long days ride. He either loved you or hated you, but most of all he loved everyone and will be greatly missed by those whose lives he had touched. He was also an avid golfer and camper.
He is survived by one terrific son: Michael Critelli of Carbondale, PA.; one sister: Grace Sheridan and husband William of Carbondale, PA.; one brother: Anthony Critelli and wife Helen of Uniondale, PA.; Several Nieces Nephews
The funeral was held Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 9:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor and Rev. Kenneth Sherman of St. Nicholas Church, Rochester, NY.
Cremation followed at Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
Friends called Monday, December 29, 2003 from 5-9 pm at the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale.
Pallbearers: John Critelli, William Sheridan, Jr., John Glinsky, Joseph Passeri, Joseph Zagursky and Todd Meckley.
