Frances M. Robinson, 85, of Scott Township, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Caroline Lapera Anelli. Fran was a graduate of Ben Franklin High School, class of 1958. At the age of 60, she was a proud graduate of Penn State University, graduating in the top of her class. After achieving her degree, she worked for the NEIU and various school districts as a substitute teacher. She taught us that it is never too late to chase your dreams.
Nothing made her prouder than her family and her strong Italian heritage. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic, strong in her faith. She made trips to Medjugorje and prayed the Rosary daily. She was especially devoted to the Blessed Mother.
Fran loved to cook, making her homemade noodles, lasagna and her many flavors of cheesecakes. No one ever left her home hungry. In her spare time, she loved to do word search puzzles.
Fran is survived by her two children, Richard Robinson (Lynne Harrison) of Sott Township, and Donna Robinson (Mark Helmericks) of Florida and Alaska. She has four grandchildren: Bryanna, Dakota, Richie and Nicole; and two great-grandchildren: Salem and Axl; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who stayed by her side throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Joseph Robinson, and siblings, Angelo Anelli, Lucille Hacken and Angela Opeka.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Allied 3 North for their compassion and care. A special thank you to her caregiver, Gretchen, for all her help and companionship.
The funeral will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., 89 Farview St, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale, celebrated her cousin, Rev. John Lapera. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Friends and family may call on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 3-6 p.m.
