Frances Imbalzano Opeil, 87, of Carbondale, PA, died Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehab Center, Carbondale. She was the wife of Edward W. Opeil, who died on December 5, 1996. Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Natale and Maria Tancredi Imbalzano. Fraye was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. She was retired from the local garment industry and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. The family would like to thank the staff at the Carbondale Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided Fraye over the past four years. She is survived by six sisters: Marie Farley of Clark, NJ, Genevieve Imbalzano of Memphis, TN, Josephine Oliveri of Carbondale, PA, Anne Imbalzano of Carbondale, PA, Teresa Imbalzano of Carbondale, PA and Carmel Pittaway of Clemmons, NC; three brothers: Ralph Imbalzano of Carbondale, PA, Anthony Imbalzano of Turnersville, NJ and John Imbalzano of Elkton, MD; an uncle: Anthony Tancredi of Hornell, NY; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews; several cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother: Frank Imbalzano. The funeral was held Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, pastor and Deacon Edward Casey. Interment, parish cemetery, Carbondale. Pallbearers: Carl and Alex Oliveri, John and Nate Imbalzano, Frank and Jerry Farley, Stanley Horan, Jr. and Michael McLaughlin.
