Frances Kenyon Johnson, 79, of Clifford, PA, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Born April 24, 1938 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Rachel Bowen Machell. She was a lifelong member of the Clifford Baptist Church where she faithfully served as pianist, Sunday school teacher and church clerk. She began her career as a secretary for the Mountain View School District and later retired as business manager of the district. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Prosperity Chapter 83, Hop Bottom and the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. The family wishes to thank the staffs at the Carbondale Nursing Home, Forest City Personal Care and Allied Services Hospice for their compassionate care to Frances over these past few years. She is survived by four daughters: Jodi Shinn of Greenfield Township, PA, Sheri Gaughan and husband Philip of Greenfield Township, PA, Suzi Wallis and husband Jeff of Fell Township, PA and Lauren Kenyon and longtime companion Joe Scotch of Fell Township, PA; six grandchildren: Megan Pregmon and husband Bill, Hilary Shinn, Rachel Gaughan Walczak and husband Leon, Carly Gaughan Holleran and husband Brendan, Ashley Wallis and Josh Wallis; three great grandchildren: Keira and Liam Pregmon and Lydia Holleran; one brother: William Machell of Clifford, PA; four sisters: Elizabeth Grant of Harford, PA, Alberta Miller of Wyalusing, PA, Margaret Farrell of Mount Washington, KY and Jan Price of Clifford, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson: Jesse Joseph Gaughan; brother: Joseph Machell; two infant brothers; one sister: Rachel Kochmer; former husband and lifelong friend: James Kenyon and husband, Donald Johnson. The funeral was held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. from the Clifford Baptist Church, Clifford, PA, with Pastor Bonnie Resseguie, officiating. Interment, Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Robert Kochmer, Paul Kochmer, David Miller, Diane Miller, Katie Price and Christine Kelley.
