Florence T. Larkin, 91, of Carbondale, died Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Regional Hospital, Scranton, after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Sliver" Larkin on April 16, 1989.

Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late James and Jennie Salko Fortuner.

She was an avid reader who loved to sew and do crafts. She especially loved spending time with her two favorite granddaughters.

She is survived by three daughters: Teresa, Susan and Amy Larkin; two granddaughters: Sarah Larkin and husband, Eric Grabowski and Shea Smith; one brother: Robert Fortuner and wife, Linda; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son: Joseph Larkin, Jr.; and two brothers: James and William Fortuner.

The family would like to thank the staff especially Joanne, Rob, Sue and April and the residents at Adventura at Creekside for their care and kindness.

The funeral will be held Monday, September 28, 2026, from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale. Interment, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Carbondale.

Viewing hours will be held Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 2-5 p.m.
