Fiore S. Bruno, Sr., 76, a resident of the Wayne Woodlands Nursing Home, Waymart, PA., formerly of Birkett Street and the South Highrise Apartments, Carbondale, PA., died Monday morning, December 15, 2008 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. He was the husband of the former Elizabeth A. Biglin. They were married September 7, 1957. Born February 10, 1932 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late William and Maria (Gagliario) Bruno. He was a graduate of the Ben Franklin High School, Carbondale and was a veteran of the Army. He was a member of the Albert H. Crane American Legion Post 221 and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church both of Carbondale. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a metal finisher by Suckle Electronics in Moosic, PA. Mrs. Bruno would like to thank the staff of Wayne Woodlands, Dr. T.J. Craparo and Dr. Matt Haley for the exceptional care they gave to Fiore during his illness. He is survived by one brother: Emilio Bruno of Jermyn, PA.; two sisters: Emelia Dolly Ross of Carbondale, PA. and Evelyn Cosklo of Crystal Lake, PA.; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.He was preceded in death by one son: Fiore S. Bruno, Jr.; three brothers: Joseph, Alex and Thomas Bruno; four sisters: Adeline Rinaldi, Rose Qualtere, Mary Soares and Lena Cavacchi. The funeral was held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor. Entombment , Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA with military honors from VFW Honor Guard, Post 4712, Simpson, PA.
