Faye L. Decker, 75, of Lenoxville, PA., died Tuesday morning, October 14, 2008 at home after a long illness. She was the wife of Verdon Decker.
Born and raised in Hop Bottom, PA., she was the daughter of the late Vernon W. and Helen (Herron) Hallstead.
She was a member of the Lenoxville United Methodist Church, Lenoxville and was a graduate of the Hop Bottom High School. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a clerk at the Fleetville Post Office and was the postmaster of the former Lenoxville Post Office. She was a gifted piano player, an avid reader and liked to travel throughout the Northeast and New England states. Verdon and Faye celebrated 56 years of marriage this year. Their love and devotion for one another was obvious to all who knew them. Faye brightened her family's lives with her love and humor and she will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
She is survived by one son: Michael J. Decker and wife Jeanine of Lenoxville, PA.; two daughters: Linda L. McGlone and husband Paul of Philadelphia, PA. and Patricia F. Rowan and husband Michael of Lenoxville, PA.; ten grandchildren: Jonathan and William Granick, Joshua Schinn, Kassia Shifler, Merica and Paul Shepherd, Emma Rowan, Erik, Sara and Jameson Pickering; 6 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son: Vernon Decker; one brother: Vernon W. Hallstead. The funeral was held Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with the Rev. James Madas, pastor of the Kingsley Community Church, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
