Everett Snyder, age 87, of Greenfield Township, PA. died Monday morning, February 2, 2004 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. His wife was the former Louise Baker who died February 18, 1986.
Born December 26,1916 in Dickson City, PA, he was the son of the late Jess and Jane (McMyne) Snyder.
He began his education at Dickson City School and continued at Greenfield Township. He was a United States Army Veteran who earned the Victory Medal during his service in World War II.
He worked as a merry-go-round operator at Newton Lake Amusement Park. He also worked at Murray Plant in Scranton, PA. Daystrum in Archbald, PA. and was a maintenance worker at Lakeland High School, Montdale, PA.
He was a charter member of Greenfield Township Lions Club. He was the unofficial road master of Greenfield Township.
He enjoyed cutting grass and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Everetts life started and ended with family. What a treasure he left behind! His love and tenderness evolved around his four children, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren which include: son Robert and his wife Joy of Birdsboro, PA; their children Michael blessed with Nina and Lauren and Eric blessed with Alicia; son Jerry and wife Josephine of Greenfield Township; their children Brenda Gavin blessed with Kaycie and T.J.; Gerald, Jr. blessed with Hunter and Mackenzie; Thomas blessed with Blake; and Kathryn Uher blessed with Nathan and Sarah: daughter Ginny Snyder of Greenfield Township and her children George Uhrin blessed with Troy and Brett; Jeff Uhrin; and Holly Holeva blessed with Courtney and Alexis; and son Thomas of Hallstead and his children Sara blessed with Joshua and Isaiah; and Susan blessed with Taylor, Thomas, and Timothy. one brother: Fred of Freehold, NJ

He was preceded in death by two brothers:, John Snyder and William Snyder; nine sisters: Pearl Orzel, Hazel Tyson, Cora Richards, Hazel Snyder, Annie Snyder, Grace Snyder, Flossie Snyder, May Bell Snyder and Marguarite Snyder.

The funeral was held Friday, February 6, 2004 at 10:00 am from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA celebrated by Rev. Linda Bryan, pastor of the Clifford, Lenoxville and Tompkinsville United Methodist Churches, officiating. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale, PA.
Friends called Thursday, February 5, 2004 from 3-5 and 7-9. Pallbearers: Thomas Snyder, Jr., Jerry Snyder, Jr., Eric Snyder, Michael Snyder, Jeff Uhrin, George Uhrin, Thomas Gavin, Richard Uher and James Ashman.
