Evelyn L. Sheare, 71, of Clifford Township, PA, died Saturday evening, March 10, 2018 at home. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Gerdusky. Born February 28, 1947 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Trevor and Anna Morrison Sheare. Evelyn was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, and worked as an in home caregiver for many years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandson Joseph, who provided her much joy. She is survived by two sons: Kevin Sheare of Clifford Township, PA and Darrin Sheare and wife Lilliam of Carbondale, PA; three sisters: Norma Lopes Stracka of Mayfield, PA, Beverly Yadlowsky and husband Thomas of Vandling, PA and Liz (Isadora) Gerdusky of Olyphant, PA; one brother: Duane Sheare and wife Brenda of Clifford Township, PA; four grandchildren: Hillary Sheare, Evin Sheare and wife Sabrina, Alyssa Sheare and Nathan Sheare; two great grandchildren: Joseph Sheare and Joslyn Backe; numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by four sisters: Margaret Clancy, Ruth Ogozaly, Dolores Warzecha and Anna Mae Wozniak; two brothers: Trevor and Gerard Sheare. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. James Price, C.P., pastor. Friends called Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the church. Arrangements were under the direction of Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
