Evelyn Misner, age 86, of Carbondale, PA. died unexpectedly Sunday evening, January 16, 2005 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. She was the wife of the late Harley Misner.
Born December 29, 1918 in Simpson, PA. She was the daughter of the late Stephen and Christina (Sova) Rabinsky.
She was a member of St. Basils Russian Orthodox Church in Simpson. She attended Fell Township Schools.
She is survived by six daughters: LaVonne Misner at home; Lorraine husband Bob Lewis of Carbondale, PA.; Linda Galko of Carbondale, PA.; Patricia husband Chip Calabro of Carbondale, PA.; Nancy husband Bob Becker of Southport, NC. and Cynthia husband Bob Stephens of Raleigh, NC.; one sister: Ann Manners of Elmhurst, NY.; 15 Grandchildren; 5 Step Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces Nephews
She was preceded in death by one sister: Marie Despotides; two brothers: Peter and Daniel Rabinsky; a son-in-law: Anthony Galko
The funeral was held Thursday, January 20, 2005 at 9:15 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am in St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church, 33 Midland Street, Simpson, celebrated by the Very Reverend David Hritcko, pastor. Interment, parish cemetery, Simpson, PA.
Friends called Wednesday, January 19, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Parastas service was held at 8:00 pm. Pallbearers: All Grandsons; Stephen Calabro, Chippy Calabro, Jr., Robert Lewis, Jr., Robert Lewis, III., Joseph McDonald and T.J. McDonald. Honorary Pallbearers: 2 Grandchildren; Cody Stephens and Kyle Stephens.
