Eva Wierzbicki, 89, of Greenfield Township, PA., died Monday Morning, October 13, 2008 at the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City PA. She was the wife of the late Stanley Wierzbicki who died March 11, 1979.
Born December 17, 1918 in Peckville, PA., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Kura. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Montdale, PA. She was a former member of St. Pius X Church, Royal, PA., and was active in many of its organizations. She was a retired seamstress having been employed by the former Clifford Dress Factory, Clifford, PA. She is survived by two sons: Stanley Wierzbicki and wife Joyce of Greenfield Township, PA. and John Wierzbicki and wife Mary Helen of Maine; three daughters: Barbara Jones and husband Bill of Norfolk, VA., Maureen Bartron and husband John of Honesdale, PA., and Katherine Krenitsky and husband Jack of East Berlin, PA.; two sisters: Mary Hoffmeister of Peckville, PA. and Rose Smith of Balley, PA.; two brothers: John Kura of Peckville, PA. and Leo Kura of Reeders, PA.; 10 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers: William, George, Joseph and Edward Kura. The funeral was held Friday, October 17, 2008 at 9:30 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Corpus Christi Church, Montdale, concelebrated by Rev. Daniel A., Toomey, pastor and Rev. Albert Olfield, pastor of St. Mary's Church, Moosic. Interment, St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Blakely, PA. Pallbearers: Jeff Wierzbicki, Al Gillow, Tim Krenitsky, Mark Walters, Chuck Hefner and Rick Conklin. Friends called Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 4-7 PM.
