Eugenia Jean Jacobino, age 92, formerly of 61 Belmont Street, Carbondale, PA., and a current resident of The Laurels at Mid Valley Assisted Living Facility, Sturges Road, Peckville, PA., passed away Tuesday morning, September 18, 2007 at the living facility. She was the wife of the late Michael V. Jacobino, who died April 8, 1987. Born May 15, 1915 in Forest City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lucia (Perri) Turano. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Carbondale. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale and worked 25 years as a seamstress for JC's Dress Factory and Childrens Dress Factory, both of Carbondale. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by: two daughters: Rosemary husband Martin Dougherty of Sun City West, AZ. and Lucille husband Charles Chip Norella of Waymart, PA.; one son: Dominic wife Diane Jacobino of Scranton, PA.; two sisters: Emilia Iorio of Cleveland, OH. and Dorina Hull of Florida; 10 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by one son: Anthony J. Jacobino, Sr.; three brothers: Michael, Edward and Salvatore Turano; three sisters: Caroline Kate Manes, Rose Santora and Adeline Lena Mancuso. The funeral was held Friday, September 21, 2007 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 3-8 PM. Pallbearers: Ronald Jacobino, Paul Tracy, Martin Dougherty, Greg Neugebauer, Dominic Mancuso and Carmine Fiorillo.
