Esther L. Fickes, 76, of South Gibson, PA., died Sunday evening, April 28, 2013 at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehab Center, Carbondale, PA. Born in Utica, NY., she was the daughter of the late Daniel H. and Elfrieda M. (Williams) Fickes. She received her education in nursing and was a registered nurse. She retired from the Binghamton Psychiatric Hospital, Binghamton, NY., where she had been employed as a psychiatric nurse for many years. She is survived by one brother: William Fickes of Gibson Township, PA.; a niece and a nephew; 2 grand nieces. As per Esther's request she was cremated and no services were held. Arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
