Erika J. Harris, 45, of Carbondale, PA, died Friday, December 7, 2018 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA, shortly after admission. Born September 28, 1973 in Wilkes Barre, PA, she is the daughter of Barbara Krysiuk Harris of Wilkes Barre, PA, and the late Fred Schmidt. Erika was a 1991 graduate of Carbondale Area High School and received an associates degree from Penn State University. She had been employed as an estimator for Scranton Products and most recently for Multiscape General Contractors, Pittston, PA. She loved her cat, Cali and enjoyed tending to her house plants. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed hiking, biking and off-roading. Her daughter Klarice brought tremendous joy to her life. Although shy in nature, Erika was very outspoken and her daughter's biggest fan at all of her sporting events and activities. She is survived by her companion: Scott Winters and their daughter, Klarice Winters of Carbondale, PA; two sisters: Roxanne Harris of Wilkes Barre, PA and Jill Harris of Wanamie, PA; one brother: William Harris of Mocanaqua, PA; several nieces and nephews. Friends called Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA.
