Emma J. Rauschenberger, 93, of Souderton, PA, died Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown, PA. Born March 4, 1928 in Osijek, Croatia, she was the daughter of the late Willibald and Luzie Zarkovic Hoechtl. She immigrated to the United States in 1952 with her husband and son, Willibald. They lived in Doylestown, PA, then she moved to Elkdale, PA, for 33 years, and later to Sartasota FL, and Souderton, PA, near her son Rudolph. She graduated high school and business school in Croatia and was a dressmaker. She worked for Bonwitt-Taylor and then owned and operated La Cuturiere in Doylestown, PA. She was a member of Bahia Vista Mennonite Church in Florida and formerly attended the Clifford United Methodist Church. She was a member of Better Sigma Phi in Doylestown and Carbondale, elected Municipal Auditor of Clifford Township for 6 years, volunteer driving for 19 years at Susguehanna County transportation, Meals on Wheels, Foster Grandparents Program, and many other volunteer organizations and a proud prolific quilting master. She is survived by sons: Willibald and wife, Charlene Rauschenberger of Sarasota, FL and Rudolph and wife, Elizabeth Rauschenberger of Souderton, PA; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister: Ingeburg Hoechtl; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter: Karen Rauschenberger, ex-husband: Johannes Rauschenberger, sisters: Herta Jonach and Alma Hoechtl. Services were private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
