Emma Salansky O'Hop, age 86 of Uniondale, PA., passed away Friday, August 10, 2007 at the Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock, PA. She was the wife of the late Stanley O'Hop who died January of 1983.
Born April 11, 1921 in Uniondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Slebodnik) Salansky. Emma was a real estate broker for over 60 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Martin of Tours Church in Jackson, PA. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She had a heart of gold and was a rock to all of us. Her life was filled with so many caring friends and family. She spoke highly of each and every one of them. She loved company and listening to her dear friend play the piano. She enjoyed the sunshine and sitting on her back deck admiring the pond. She enjoyed her many trips to Atlantic City. Emmas greatest joy in life was taking care and spending all of her time with her family. Emma had a heart of gold and will live in our hearts forever. We love you.
She is survived by three daughters: Carol Emmett of Galena, MD., Patricia O'Hop of Uniondale, PA. and Jo Anne husband Joseph Bolin of Factoryville, PA.; one son: William (Chip) wife Kristyna O'Hop of Dale City, VA.; two sisters: Annie Berish of Simpson, PA. and Helen Soltis of New York; one brother: Thomas wife Lois Salansky of Uniondale, PA.; 8 grandchildren: Maria Alden, Julie Harper, Annie Fields, William O'Hop, Lynn Brainard, Michael Brainard, Crystal Tompkins and Sherry Cornell; 10 great grandchildren: Randy Alden, Kyle O'Hop, Steven O'Hop, Jenna O'Hop, Kaitlin O'Hop, Matthew Harper, Joshua Harper, Shaina Brainard, Coleman Brainard, Shea Tompkins; Many Nieces Nephews She was preceded in death by three brothers: John, Bill and George Salansky; three sisters: Mary Stumph, Eleanor Sholtis and Evelyn Salansky; one great granddaughter: Mary Brianna O'Hop. The funeral was held Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 8:45 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martin of Tours Church, Jackson, celebrated by Rev. Kenneth Seegar, pastor. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
