Elsie Bonacci Zitterman, 79, of Carbondale, PA, died Tuesday afternoon, March 11, 2014 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA.
Born in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Catherine Molinaro Bonacci.
She was retired from the Gentex Corporation in Carbondale and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the former Marian Community Hospital Auxiliary in Carbondale.
She enjoyed Sunday afternoon card games with her family and she was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by one son: Jerry Zitterman of Mays Landing, NJ; one sister: Lucille Bonacci of Baltimore, MD; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter: Judy VanBuren; seven brothers: Louis, Eugene, Philip, Nicholas, Anthony, Salvatore and baby Peter Bonacci; six sisters: Vera Peregrin, Mary Bone, Josephine Bonacci, Viola Colandro, Clara Rosipko and Rose Kaczmarcik.
The funeral was held Saturday, March 15, 2014 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, associate pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Family and friends called Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the church from 10:30 AM till 11:00 AM.
