Elsie M. Cox, 82, of Carbondale, PA, died Friday, August 5, 2022 at the home of her son, Dale in Vandling, PA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Skeen, and her second husband, William Cox. Born May 22, 1940 in Charles Town, WV, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Esile Lawson Helems. Prior to Elsie's retirement, she worked as a personal care aid for Lincoln View Manor, Carbondale, and also as a crossing guard for the Carbondale Area School District. She enjoyed planting flowers in her garden, loved animals and truly loved and cherished her children and grandchildren. She was very kind and generous to everyone and devoted all of her love to her family. She is survived by her five children: Brian Skeen of Carbondale, PA, Dana Skeen of Carbondale, PA, Gary Skeen of Greenfield Township, PA, Lori Rondamanski and husband, Benjamin of Dunmore, PA, and Dale Cox of Vandling, PA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister: Mary Meadows of Akron, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son: Keith Skeen; three brothers: William, Robert and Leo Helems. The funeral was held Friday, August 12, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with Rev. Donald Snyder, pastor of the Pioneer Baptist Church, officiating. Click Here to view the livestream.
