Ellen K. Tierney, 53, of Peckville, PA, died suddenly on Friday, March 21, 2025 at her home.

Born February 6, 1972 in Carbondale, PA, she is the daughter of James F. Tierney, Jr., and wife, Diane of Scott Township, PA, and Loretta Cortese Lesniewski and her late husband, Frank of Cottrell Lake, PA.

Ellen was a 1990 graduate of Carbondale Area High School and had been employed by PennDOT in Dunmore, for the past 18 years. She was a mother to her two girls and especially loved being a Grandmother. Ellen was an animal lover, and she adored her cats. She found peace in the outdoors, especially ATV riding. She would often watch the movie, Jaws on repeat and enjoyed horror movies like Halloween and Walking Dead with her girlfriends.

She is also survived by two daughters: Morgan Clark and husband, Austin of Throop, PA, and Reese Brennan of West Chester, PA; two grandchildren: Bellamy and Ruby Clark; five siblings: Frank Lesniewski and wife, Suzanne of Blakely, PA, Kelly Munley of Carbondale, PA, Cathi Fedak and husband, Bill of Browndale, PA, James F. Tierney, IV, and wife, Suzy of Greenfield Township, PA, and Mark Lesniewski and wife, Leane of Raleigh, NC; her loving fiancé: Scott Ohmnacht and his son, Scott, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA, concelebrated by Rev. Seth Wasnock, pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale, PA, and Rev. Arun Lakra, pastor of Ascension Parish, Forest City, PA.

Viewing hours were held Friday, March 28, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA.
