Elizabeth A. Pittsman, 68, of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday afternoon, August 16, 2014 at the Creekside Health and Rehabilitation Center, Carbondale. She was the wife of the late James Pittsman, Jr., who died in 2002.
Born September 2, 1945 in Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie LaGravenese Verducci. Elizabeth was a graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ, and also graduated from beautician school. She worked as a beautician for several years and also owned and operated, along with her husband Jimmy, Earl's Bar in Mayfield, PA, for many years. She enjoyed her trips to the casino and loved spending time with her niece and nephews.
She is survived by one sister: Phyllis Sopko and husband Nick of Carbondale, PA; one brother: Carmen Verducci & wife Carol of Union, NJ; four nephews: Stephen, Nick, III., Michael and Frank; two nieces: Phyllis and Christine. A blessing service was held Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at 10:00 AM from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Mayfield, PA. Pallbearers: Thomas Jones, Stephen, Nicholas and Michael Sopko.
