Elizabeth Lynch, 97, of Greenfield Township, PA., died Thursday morning, May 21, 2009 at home. She was the wife of the late George J. Lynch, who died June 8, 1998. Born February 9, 1912 in Mayfield, PA., she was the daughter of the late John and Harrietina Swift Hladick.She was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield. She loved to bake for her family, friends and for the church bake sales. She was well known for her cakes and jelly rolls.She is survived by one daughter: Jean Lynch of Greenfield Township, PA.; a close friend, neighbor and caregiver: Shirley Phillips; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by two sons: James and George Lynch; three brothers: Max, Joseph and Theodore Hladick; one sister: Madeline Dwonczyk.The funeral was held Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 9:30 AM from St. John The Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 706 Hill Street, Mayfield with a Requiem Service by V. Rev. Mitred Archpriest John D. Sorochka, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township. Friends called Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 9:00 to 9:30 AM at the cathedral.Arrangements were under the direction of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Lynch's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
