Elizabeth "Betty" Kavulich, 90, of Greenfield Township, PA, died Tuesday morning, October 17, 2017 at home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Joseph M. Kavulich, who died May 27, 2008. They were married 56 years. Born Oct. 16, 1927 in Herrick Center, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas (Timko) and Esther Strosky Holowach. Betty was a member of the Greenfield Township Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed baking and having garage sales. Her greatest joy was sharing her baked goods with family and friends. The family would like to thank Maryann McGuire for her love and care to Betty for the past six years. She will be missed by her cat, Snowy. She is survived by her daughter and caregivers, Doreen M. Brewer and husband, Charlie, Greenfield Township, PA; a son, John M. Kavulich, Buffalo Valley, TN; four grandchildren, Michael Tucker, Pittston, PA; Lauren Kavulich, Chelsea and Maise Kavulich, all of Tennessee; two great-granddaughters, Natalie Tucker, Pittston, PA; and Emily Tucker, Allentown, PA; numerous nieces and nephews including Dennis Kaplavka and Diana Grant. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Holowach; and sister, Mary Kaplavka. The funeral was held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, celebrated by Pastor Glen Riexinger. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Robert Slebodnik, Michael Tucker, Joseph Slebodnik, David Nogan and Jeff Grant. Honorary Pallbearer: Dennis Kaplavka.
